A Children's Tea

Our children's tea typically features kid friendly food. We begin with baby carrots and a dipping sauce followed by a beautiful plate of fresh fruit with marshmallow cream. The sandwiches today included egg salad triangles and bologna and cheese teapots. We also serve a miniature three tiered tray with the favorites ~ peanut butter bites, jelly triangles and peanut butter and jelly squares. The little heart sandwiches were popular (simply buttered bread cut with a cutter and sprinkled with assorted colored sugars - thanks Marilyn from Heart's Delight for sharing this kid favorite). Scones of course, and a rose decorated cupcake completed the menu. There was a choice of pink lemonade or a pot of tea from our extensive tea list.
The young lads and ladies enjoyed a delightful afternoon with moms and grandmas today.

That is a nice photo collage of the children's tea. What a great menu with something for everyone. I really like the teapot open faced sandwiches and the centerpieces.

How fun! Thanks for mentioning the butter with sprinkles sandwich. It is a favorite when I serve it to kids and so simple. Love the bologna and cheese idea.

I think that it is wonderful for children to be able to enjoy something like that. You made it very special for all of them!

Such a totally delightful tea party! I love your menu --- it's creative, looks tasty, and is perfect for children. May I come too even though all grown up?

I make similar things when I have a tea party with my niece and nephews, or my little cousins. Usually we just have one kind of cookies, or cinnamon toast, but I impressed my first cousin's 5 year old daughter when babysitting her, by making "sugar toast", which is basically cinnamon toast, but with colored sugar (pink and purple, of course!) substituted for the cinnamon sugar. She inhaled it so fast we had to have a talk about tea table manners, and she asked her mom for sugar toast for breakfast every day for weeks afterwards! So simple, and easy, and they love it!
