The Flame Teapot

This unusual teapot was found at a yard sale by my NY sister. It is in very good shape, although it has a few minor nicks around the base. To my eye, it reminds me of an elephant with his trunk raised for good luck. In reality, it depicts the golden flame of the Statue of Liberty in NYC. Crafted in 1997 by award winning architect Guy Lindsay Kohn, , it is a limited edition of 1,000. It is glazed in 24k gold and cast by hand. It was designed as an exact to-scale replica of the Statue of Liberty flame. It measures approximately 7" high and 12" wide from handle to spout. It does inspire conversation in the tea room.

I love the gold glaze on it. Definitely a conversation piece.

That is an interesting tea pot design, and I agree with Marilyn -- definitely a conversation piece!
