Vinyl Patch Leaf Bird Bath Bowls
Aren't these so pretty? The secret is to make them with Vinyl Patch Cement. It is finer and has smaller holes. It also has fiber reinforcement included in the cement. Large sturdy leaves like rhubarb, skunk cabbage, burdock work really well. Smaller hosta leaves make pretty end table bowls as well. Here is a link to the Ehow directions.
I have always wanted to make one of these. Phipps had a class with some of their big leaves, but it was a bit to rustic! This is wonderful! Now if I could have a little time to do! Thanks as always for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteSusanna was wisked away by, her loving husband, David to a B+B with rooms named after herbs on a Friday night, Saturday their was a herb fair in their backyard to educate and entertain us. I bought this as a memory of our trip, Susanna found a copper statuary with blue gaze ball atop to add to our Backyard Display Gardens. Two handsome finds! And great memories...
ReplyDeleteAnd Susanna has she wants to offer a class someday on it making the leaves.
Love to you Susanna,
David
I'll have to look for that type of cement. I made one of those a long time ago, but it broke during our move. I'll see if I can make one again as they are really cool looking!
