Blue Mystique Orchid
Spotted this new orchid at the Stauffers of Kissel Hill Booth at the Pennsylvania Garden Expo. The grower gave this Phalenopsis Orchid a "special process" where the current blooms are a blue turning to a vivid electric blue as they mature. Rebloom next year will be white. Not my personal favorite but I watched as many of them sold. Blue is a tough color to find in flowers...
Wow!!! What a brilliant blue. Blue is a TOUGH color to find in flowers. I'm not sure that I care for it either!
ReplyDeleteLove that nursery. Have to stop by when we are out visiting you all. I'm sorry that blue looks fake!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful and so unique. I love blue flowers. I bought tulip bulbs that were suppose to be blue, but ended up being dark red. I found out later I needed to fertilize them with a special mixture. We did that this year, so I am hoping again for blue tulips.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a Blue Mystique orchid today. It is the most beautiful flower I have ever seen! I really hope it won't change to white. I live in Naples FL and hope I can learn to care for it and won't kill it.

ReplyDeletea friend told me to water these, she simply uses two ice cubes once a week (more often if she feels it's super dry but said to be careful not to over-water.)
