by A.A. Milne
She wore her yellow sun-bonnet
She wore her greenest gown
She turned to the south wind
She turned to the south wind
And curtsied up and down
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head
and whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead."
I love this poem!
ReplyDeleteYes! So true! I have been watching for my daffodils to bloom in my backyard, through the window I look from my desk. No blooms! I couldn't understand why and finally realized my son (the lawn mowing guy) cut them down too soon last year. I will watch him this year, as I am not happy to look at only the leaves. We do have beautiful miniatures in the front of our house. They are my all time favorite flower and I love celebrating spring with daffodils.
ReplyDeleteOkay, if that daffodil picture is from this year, I am jealous! (Smiles). Nothing coming up here yet...well, let me rephrase that, I see weeds already...but nothing pretty!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great spring day!
Donna
Lovely! And I'm so very glad winter is dead for another year!
