This is one of my favorite vintage nosegay holders. It features an intricate Ivory handle and a small mirror. I love the thought of checking your rouge in the mirror or perhaps holding it up to secretly keep an eye on your beau at the ball.
An informative sampling focused on herbs and tea with an occasional sprinkling of fairy dust and a glimpse into family activities too. The contributions to this blog are the combined efforts of the sisters of The Rosemary House and Sweet Remembrances.
That is a sweet holder. I just got your mother's book yesterday and can hardly put it down -- what a wonderful legacy and what a wonderful gardener who loved her herbs. I've skipped around so far -- but love her "talks" about the house herbs!
ReplyDeleteHi Susanna and Nancy,

ReplyDeleteOK, these are the most exquisite examples of posie holders I have ever seen, and I truly, truly ADORE knowing you sisters inherited them. (I *strongly* suspect I would have enjoyed knowing your mother!)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely treasures your mother left to her daughters. I have given two of them away as gifts to brides-to-be at White Bible Ceremonies, but I don't have any of my own. Beautiful collection!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your posie holders. What a lovely, lovely collection.
