Morris Arboretum

While the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, located in Philadelphia, originally began as a tree collection in the early 1900's it has expanded its collections to include ferns, herbs, rock garden plants, roses and more. Known as the Official Arboretum of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, it is a destination for horticultural display, educational resources, conservation, and research.

And, if you walk the grounds, you'll discover fun surprises such as a human size birds nest or a garden railroad.

Here are a few images from our most recent Traveling Herb Seminar to the Morris Arboretum.  Our next trip is to "Garden State Gardens" in New Jersey.

It was a beautiful day to stroll the grounds, enjoy the gardens, savor a picnic lunch prepared by Sweet Remembrances and simply relax in the creative Adirondack chairs.
Of small note, today's post marks 1000 posts
since Susanna and Nancy started blogging about herbs and tea!

  1. What a stunning botanical garden. Our Balboa park has beautiful grounds also, but I sure wish I were within driving distance of this one. Thank you for sharing the pictures of your garden tour.

  2. Congratulations on hitting 1000. I am close, but not quite there yet. I always love visiting the gardens with you and remembering the Sweet Remembrances picnic lunch I once had on the lawn of Simpson and Vail.

  5. What a lovely place! I've been planting (and transplanting) ferns, so my eye goes straight to them. And congrats on 1,000 posts! It takes a commitment to do that!

  6. Congratulations! I don't think 1000 posts is a "small note." I think it's FABULOUS. I'm coming up on my 1000th several weeks from now! Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday. Susan
