Tea House to Trading Post

At the Capilano Suspension Bridge, there is a Trading Post Gift Shop that features all the usual trinkets you might expect to find at a tourist destination. What caught Nancy's eye, was this hidden placard on the exterior of the gift shop. The Trading Post was built in 1911, and was originally utilized as a tea room for well over 30 years, serving an occasional duchess or two!
This Tea House porch is part of the display where you discover the pioneers who helped shape Vancouver. This informational area is a short walk from the entrance to the suspension bridge, and is an introduction to their life through photos and preserved memorabilia.

The little informational placard is quietly tucked behind the stuffed Canadian mountie 'bear'.
