Everyone found an outfit to wear from Susanna's Victory Rolls to Angelica representing Rosie the Riveter in blue button down denim, red handkerchief, bright red lipstick and extra duty muscles. "We Can Do It!" Rosie the Riveter symbolizes the American women who worked in factories and shipyards during the wartime era, producing munitions and war supplies.
A few decorating touches in the tea room helped to complete the scene. Photos from our members of the "Greatest Generation". Our dad was in the South Pacific and 3 of his brothers also served making our Grandmother a proud 4-Star Mother. Our Aunt Hilda began her illustrious nursing career in the military.

Cedar couldn't decide which of his many outfits he wanted to wear. It was fun that everyone played along including many of the tea party ladies.
Our program, presented by Alisa Dupuy, was about the female spies of WWII including the stories of Virginia Hall, Alice Marble, Josephine Baker and how some of the other women such as Marlena Dietrick helped with the war effort.
What a fun theme! Love Susana's Victory Rolls!
ReplyDeleteYou have the best theme teas, Nancy. I would have loved this tea too! Angelica makes a great Rosie, and Susanna and Cedar added to the fun event. Love all your WWII props. I know you've published a cookbook already, but have you considered a book of theme teas?
ReplyDeleteLove the costumes and theme so much. Angelica looks so cute.
