Caving

So we went caving in the Venado Caves in northern Costa Rica,  a cave where 3 different types of bats live, Vampire, Fruit and Nectar.   These holes are scratched out by the bats and 20 of them will live in each hole.
We studied the geology of the rocks and the fish under the tutelage of elder sister Carolynn, the retired Earth Science middle school teacher.

Cedar climbed it all.

Carolynn held the scorpion spider.
                 We didn't.

Here we are standing in front of and obscuring the 'papaya' formation, a stalactite and stalagmite that have formed a column.
And safely back out.

  3. So glad you made it safely back out. I like caves, but sometimes they can be a bit claustrophobic. In Thailand we visited a cave where they wanted me to crawl through a small opening and I said "no", that was not for me.
