Following the meal, we welcomed the Princess of Lamballe, great friend and confident of Marie Antoinette. She explained the great connections between the US, France and England during the time period of 1789 -1793, which is the time period of the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, NY who died from having his head blown off by a cannonball. The Headless Horseman was a Hessian employed by Britain and since his fate was decapitation like Princess Lamballe and Marie Antoinette and most French Aristocrats, Princess Lamballe had this connection to the headless horseman and did a dramatic reading of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the tale of Ichabod Crane.
Our own Headless Horsewoman won most scary at her recent horse show!
Happy Halloween!
It's easy to see why this fun theme is an annual event.
ReplyDeleteYour own Horsewoman deserved to win...brilliant idea!
