Girl Scout Cookie Time!

It's Girl Scout Cookie Time again and today begins the kick off day to order your favorite cookies from your favorite Girl Scout. March 2015 saw the introduction of these two unique Bigelow teas inspired by two favorite Girl Scout cookies, Caramel & Coconut, a black tea and Thin Mints, a herbal tea! The publicity surrounding these teas say they are available for a limited time only, so I'm not sure if they are still available in your area, but we recently had the opportunity to sample them. They capture the basic flavors associated with the cookies, and none of the calories! It's a good way to indulge without actually eating the entire box of thin mints (please tell me I'm not the only one that has ever done that). If you want to order Girl Scout Cookies, information and details can be found on the GS website beginning with helping you locate a cookie booth by entering your zip code, or featuring instructions for ordering off the Internet from a Girl Scout you know, or downloading their App. Scouting has certainly come a long way since my day.

I tried the Thin Mint tea and, in the words of Cookie Monster, not as good as cookie but not bad. If you like peppermint tea with a hint of chocolate, you'll enjoy Thin Mint.

Oh, I hope I can find those teas. Thin Mints are my favorite and I like to put them in the refrigerator to get them good and cold. I remember selling Girl Scout cookies for 50 cents a box and going door to door. My daughter sold them for $2.50 each in the 80's. And now they're $4.00. Just reminiscing!

It is hard to eat just one thin mint!!! I use to buy the cookies every year when I worked. Someone was always selling them for their kids. Now I must go to the market on a Saturday to find them and I rarely go to the market on that day. I must do that soon just for the cookies! Well my oven isn't working and I do need a cookie after all.

Thin Mints are like the old Lay's Potato Chip jingle: Bet you can't eat just one. (And they meant "box," surely!)

Just checked Amazon but the teas were selling for $10-$15 per box. Do you know if you have to order them through a Girl Scout or are they at the grocery store (when/if available)?
