Fairie Festival at Spoutwood Farms

Susanna and Marj are the herb plant venders at the Fairie Festival at Spoutwood Farms this weekend. Beginning today through Sunday, you are encouraged to frolic among the fairies and trolls and other creative and imaginative creatures that might be found on the farm, sing and dance, savor tasty foods, purchase new wings or horns, and pick up a great variety of herb plants.

This marks the 23rd annual Fairie Festival. In 1991, Mom and Dad were the first to be crowned King and Queen of the May. Lamenting that I don't have a photo of that! They even brought home the May Pole that year so we could dance around it in our gardens. Also, no photo... simply a sweet memory!

What fun! It is finally getting warm enough here to start my garden! What a special memory you have of your parents as king and queen of the festival! Just awesome. Can I ask you a gardening question? I am surrounded on 3 sides by people who are not taking care of their gardens and lawns and so this year my lawn is covered with dandelions that I never had before. A few here and there, but nothing like this. I spent 2 hrs putting them out with my Granpa's weeder. Is there anything you can recommend to help keep them down? Thanks.

That definitely would be a sweet memory of your parents. Thanks for sharing it with us. I can just picture it all in my mind. What fun the Fairie Festival must be.

Sweet memories can be even better than a photo sometimes!
