We journeyed south to Hanover, PA for an afternoon tea at the Forney House Tea Room. Although we have experienced tea here before in the fall with the Royal Tea Club, we were looking forward to another tea time here. We shared our previous tea time in this blog post, here.
Since we went before the new year, we enjoyed the December tea menu which started with a hearty bowl of Potato, Sausage and Kale soup. Our tea cups were filled with a variety of tea flavors that the waitress brought to the table. When one pot emptied, another pot appeared with a new selection. Although we sampled a variety of teas throughout the day, they were not necessarily the choices we would have made personally.
The next course was a petite salad of Romaine leaves with mandarin oranges, cranberries, walnuts and a homemade poppyseed dressing.
Lots of pretty china tea cups and tea pots adorned the walls. And a wide array of hats were available if you wanted to add to your outfit. The tea room was decorated for Christmas, also, adding to the holiday spirit.
