Treasures and more treasures

One final glimpse at the newly designed shelves, a major change, eliminating some things and concentrating more on the accumulating tea collections.  The around the world theme that was introduced on the high shelves is repeated in this set of larger shelves that are directly opposite.  This set of shelves spans one wall, and is divided by a doorway.  The collections on the left are English in style with a beautiful blue display, pink roses with green accents that includes a very well padded traveling tea cozy from Holland, and a charming violet display, a blend of many different violet patterns.
In my mind, the violet section has a "wedding" feel to it, perhaps related to the wedding photo of our grandparents (our mother's side).

On the other side of the door, the shelves continue the 'around the world' theme, and have a more oriental look to them.  Several tea sets that have been given to me by my penpal are now on display.  And more tea tins and other fun treasures have found a special place in this area.

A nod to America and the McCormick tea and spice business out of Baltimore, MD rounds out these shelves.  Several tea tins, and a small souvenir saucer from Ye Olde McCormick Teahouse with the dates 1889 - 1935, share the bottom shelf.  The teahouse was billed as a 'replica of taverns of yesterday', and purchasers of McCormick tea were invited to 'be their guests at this tea house, located in the main offices in Baltimore where guests were invited to enjoy the charm of the finest tea, properly brewed'.  The red McCormick tea tin (lower right) boosts '25 tea house tea bags'.

Thank you for coming along with us during our tour of the tea room.  A very special thank you to Sylvia Fry, without whom this redesign would not have been possible.  Syvia shares her life's journey and photos on her blog, Girl of the Woods ~ Balance of Nature here.

The pink and green shelf is lovely, as well as the violet shelf. But my all-time favorite is the blue and white shelf! Thanks for sharing all your wonderful tea treasures with us!
