Downton Abbey Tea - 2015

Our Downton Abbey teas were held earlier this month. The silver was polished and the aprons starched. The best china and patterned glassware were put into service. An effervescing Shrub was presented upon arrival and assorted hot teas were offered throughout the evening.
The menu featured:

Pear & Walnut Salad with Parmesan Dressing

Cucumber Tea Sandwich
Sliced Ham & Cheese Muffins
Lemon Herbed Egg Salad with Asparagus Spear
Savory Olive Cheese Triangle on Whole Wheat
Poppyseed Apple Chicken Salad in Pastry Boats
Carrot Sandwich Rounds on Whole Grain Bread

Traditional English Cream Scones
Orange Glazed Poppyseed Tea Bread
Sweet Cream, Lemon Curd. Raspberry Preserves
Orange Slice, Kiwi Slice, Mascarpone Filled Strawberry

Lavender Butter Cookie
Lemon Coconut Cake
Sticky Toffee Pudding

Special thanks to Janet Young from Over the Teacup for her presentation on "Entertaining the Downton Abbey Way" explaining the delights of Afternoon Tea, Cocktail events and Dinner Parties. The Crawley family knew how to entertain!

Still have never had the privilege of enjoying a "Downton Abbey" tea, so I'm definitely going to have to find one (or plan one) before the show ends. Your menu sounds wonderful!
