The gardens are decorated for the season - witches, ghosts, goblins, ghouls, and pumpkin people are tucked here and there throughout the garden, including the greenhouse, the gazebo, and the arbor. They all seem to come to life when the sun sets at night.
Our Halloween Teas have been served for 2013. We had 2 sold out afternoon tea events this year, with a waitlist for both of them. We are talking about adding a third Halloween Tea to our Calendar of Events for next year! It's a festive and fun afternoon. The chocolate acorns were a fun addition to the menu, and enjoyed by many.
The menu started with a Witches Brew of Butternut Squash and Apple Soup topped with a Witchy Finger Breadstick. The sandwich course began with Pumpkin Cheese Pumpkins and Ghostly Parmesan Cheese Toasts, shown here with Angelica. We also served Ghoulish Cucumber Sandwiches and a Sweet & Savory Cheddar Cheese in Pumpernickel Coffins. And, Going Batty Carrot Moon Sandwiches and Scardey Cat Chicken Salad (alas, whisked out of the kitchen before a picture was taken!)
Tasty Pumpkin Ginger Scones and fresh fruit comprised the Scone course.
And for dessert, Mummy Gingerbread cupcakes, Candy Corn Cookies, and Ghostly Lemon Tarts completed the menu.

Such fun! Lpve all the ghost tarts and mummies and the RIP sandwiches!! I can see why you were sold out and had a wait list. Yes, I do think you will have to offer a third tea next Halloween!
What a fun way to celebrate! Much as I love candy corn, I *need* to make those candy corn cookies!
Yes, you all have so much fun!
Cute cookies! Great menu! That butternut squash and apple soup sounds very interesting!

How I would enjoy this special tea. I especially would love the ghostly lemon tarts. I just know they would have been my favorites.
