Anne Hathaway is the wife of William Shakespeare. This was her family home. Located about a mile outside of Stratford, it offers a wonderful look at the Tudor Cottage lifestyle.
The gardens here are particularly beautiful. They feature rows of Sweet Peas strung up on natural trellis.
Lots and lots of Roses, a large variety of cottage flowers, a huge lavender maze, a butterfly garden and many other little touches here and there.

I just love the English gardens. That's a great reason for visiting in the summer.
I guess I missed the link for the bus that takes you around in Stratford! Just perfect for me who will not have a car! I have a picture of her cottage and I would like to see it in person. Thanks as always for sharing!
That's a well visited area for us...my husband was born a few miles to the NE in a village called Lady Wood. I have blogged about the traffic problems coming into town at the humpback bridge...buses are definitely a great idea! Did you get to Trinity Church? My honey was baptized there, and the bust/memorial of Shakespeare is a great attraction...Love the area! Thanks for the memories!

I did enjoy visiting here a few years ago. Thanks for remembrances.
I saw Anne Hathaway's cottage in 2001 but we weren't in Stratford long enough to see everything the area had to offer. I loved seeing your photos.
Roses AND sweet peas ... I would have loved this place, for both literary and horticultural reasons!
